The discussion is sparked by the story of C.W. and Nicole Mallory, a Black couple who own Freedom Acres Ranch in Yoder, Colorado. As Marine Corps veterans, they started their ranch after experiencing food insecurity following a hurricane that displaced them. Despite their hard work and success, they have faced significant hostility and racism from some members of their community, including threats and vandalism.

I express my outrage at the blatant racism they encounter and highlight the broader implications of such behavior, emphasizing that it stems from jealousy and a refusal to accept Black success.
