At 3:26 PM on Thursday, December 16, 2004, Becky Harper made a gruesome discovery that no parent should ever have to see: her 23-year-old daughter, Bobbi Jo Stinnett, lying dead in a pool of blood on the floor of her Missouri home. The scene was a vision of gruesome chaos, and Becky struggled to comprehend the horror before her. As she continued to absorb all the horrific details, her breath caught in her throat as she realized that Bobbi Jo’s abdomen had been violently ripped open. And, heartbreakingly, the baby she had been carrying for nearly eight months was gone. All that remained was a severed umbilical cord. This is the devastating case of the brutal murder of Bobbi Jo Stinnett and the shocking abduction of her unborn daughter, Victoria Jo. It is also the chilling story of Lisa Montgomery, the deeply disturbed perpetrator who became the first woman to be executed by the federal government since 1953.
